Vintage Furniture Meets Local Culture: UKDK x Brighten The Corners

There’s something so special about seeing your hometown come alive - especially when you get to be part of it. As a Suffolk-based business, we were absolutely buzzing to lend a few of our vintage pieces to this year’s Brighten The Corners festival in Ipswich.

If you’ve not heard of it yet, Brighten The Corners is more than just a music festival. It’s a year-round not-for-profit run by the legends at Out Loud Music CIC, who support young people and marginalised communities through music, media and live events. From running venues and training volunteers to putting on incredible gigs with emerging artists, they’re making a real difference in our region — and making Ipswich proud while they’re at it.

So when they asked if we could help furnish a few spaces for the festival? That was an easy yes.

At the beautiful Ancient House venue, we supplied a mix of 1970s Swedish oak chairs, solid teak conference tables and a few other vintage bits to help bring the space to life - from a relaxed artist green room to a record shop-style box office and even a workspace setup for the crew. Turns out, we really do have a piece for every occasion.

It’s a perfect match: they support the next generation of creatives, and we give secondhand furniture a second life. Win-win.

If you didn’ get a chance to go this year - or peek inside some of Ipswich’s loveliest venues - we highly recommend grabbing yourself a ticket next year. It’s one of the best ways to experience our town, hear incredible music, and support something that truly matters.
