A very impressive 1960s to 1970s mid century styled large sideboard designed by famed British maker Archie Shine for the department store Heal's. This has lots of excellent vintage styling with the great rounded inset solid handles and the use of beautiful veneer with a striking grain. This has a large sliding door and is half open-fronted with two height adjustable glass shelves on the left area and a small chest of drawers with four drawers in the centre. The right side has a small drop-door drinks cabinet with a mirror back and a glass shelf.
This has been converted from a larger unit and is really striking.
CONDITION:
Good condition - Some general sun fading to the veneer. The right side top edge has a veneer chip. The top surface has been painted in a dark grey/black - there is a mild texture to it and some visible slight lines where the joints were. There aren't many scuffs and the inside is in really excellent condition. The door slides very smoothly.
