A great Ernest Race designed DA1 wing back lounge chair, 1946 and the world of utility scheme furniture is thrown asunder by the revolutionary designs of Mr Race. Using the organic modern shapes of pre war Denmark combined with a welded steel rod frame, this chair is an important example of design right at the start of the post war boom in prosperity, in new horizons, in a new world. Academically fascinating, visually intriguing and, fortunately, comfortable too. 80 years old and still looking good.
CONDITION: The condition of the chair is fair. The back of the chair looks slightly out of shape. There's rub wear to the fabric on the arms and a couple of faint marks to the seat area. There is a metal frame inside the the chair.
